Paul Simon sings “Everybody loves the sound of a train in the distance, everybody thinks it’s true”.  The plaintive call of the oncoming horn hints at possibility in a language everyone can understand.  This snowy morning, I drove my sister to the  Branchville railroad station to wave her off for a few days in the big City.  Always wishing I were the one going, I stood by my car as the train pulled out, musing about the adventures she’ll have.

What FUN it was to ROAR with Laughter!

Last night, I attended ROAR with Laughter, the annual fundraiser that enables ROAR to continue to save the lives of dogs and cats throughout the country.

What a fun night! The Ridgefield Recreation Center was transformed into a magical nightclub with zen-like spa feel to coincide with this year’s theme,”Winter Escape”.  In addition,  photographs and paintings of dogs and cats adorned every wall.

Young Life Volunteers Load Trucks with Goods for Shipment to Jacmel, Haiti


Sunday morning, 8:30am, volunteers from Ridgefield’s Young Life load trucks with an array of essential goods that will make their way to Jacmel, Haiti.
